Nancy Sisson Haley

Nancy (Sisson) Haley, Xi Gamma whose more than 20 years as an apparel designer and manufacturer included introducing contemporary sportswear to golf, has been named the recipient of the PGA Ernie Sabayrac Award for lifetime contributions to the golf industry. Haley is the first female to be bestowed with The PGA of America's premier industry honor.

"To be recognized like this by The PGA, it's unbelievable," said Haley. "I'm someone who is not afraid to take a chance, and I think back upon the past 20 years I've been in the industry, it's been hard growing two businesses, but the past 10 years have been fabulous. I remember being on the waiting list for the 1987 PGA (Fall) Expo, the first I attended. I convinced the Show manager that I could take any space, so they put me in a corner with a two-foot wide entrance. Presenting at that Show was the launching pad for Sport Haley. I can be a 'bulldog.' I believe, there's no such thing as 'It can't be done.'"
