March 2008 S.H. Letter
Dear Sisters,
Initiation is currently taking place at many of our Chi Omega chapters. Recently, I had the privilege to attend the initiation of a relative of mine at Rho Epsilon Chapter, Texas Christian University. It is an incredible experience to witness the ritual ceremony as a badge is placed over the heart of a new sister, signifying the welcome into our Sisterhood.
Badges speak volumes about who we are and what we know to be true in Chi Omega, for you see, they tell our story.
Sisters, your badge signifies something special about you, and it tells others that you uphold ideals and high standards associated with a premier women's organization. Your badge is more than a treasured piece of jewelry; it is a badge of honor. In fact, the badge is the property of the Fraternity and it is the privilege of those found worthy to wear the badge of Chi Omega.
By wearing the badge, you remind others that you are a Chi Omega for a lifetime. We need reminders around us to ensure that we understand that we are part of the greater Sisterhood of Chi Omega.
Start the badge revolution on your campus and within your alumnae group. Wear your badge over your heart with dignity, and wear it often. Live Chi Omega values by setting the example.
Loyally,
Jean Mrasek, S.H.
