December Message from the Governing Council
Dear Sisters,
Initiation into Chi Omega is only the first step along the Sisterhood journey that lasts a lifetime! The benefits of membership extend well beyond graduation. Life after college offers different avenues of opportunity for alumna participation.
The alumnae experience can vary greatly. Below are only a few ways to stay connected as a Chi Omega alumna.
- Join an alumnae chapter: Each alumnae chapter determines its own activities and meeting schedule. Activities range from social events to service events to outings in the community and much more!
- Assist a collegiate chapter: Advisors and House Corporation Board members serve as the consistency for collegiate chapters. They serve as mentors, coaches and guides for collegiate chapter leaders.
- Travel with Sisters: Three trips are planned for 2009. You can view trip information on the Chi Omega website, www.TravelChiO.com.
- Give back through Chi Omega's partnership with Amazon: The Fraternity can benefit from every purchase you make. Access Amazon through any of Chi Omega's websites by clicking the Amazon icon in the lower right corner.
Other ways to stay connected as an alumna include browsing Chi Omega's many websites, reading The Eleusis, keeping in touch with pledge sisters or planning a reunion.
The Fraternity has eight Regional Alumnae Directors (RADs) who are ready and willing to help our 269 alumnae chapters achieve their objectives. They are also prepared to assist a Sister who would like to start an alumnae chapter in a city or town where there is no existing chapter.
During this holiday season and into the new year, I encourage you to celebrate the joys of Sisterhood! There are so many ways to be involved and stay connected. Chi Omegas can be found throughout the world touching lives and making a difference; you may be surprised at how many Sisters are in your midst.
Happy Holidays!
Loyally in Chi Omega,
Jane Tankersley, National Alumnae Officer
