Chi Omegas Celebrate New Beginnings: A Message from the Governing Council

This is a month of new beginnings for Chi Omega. We have new members who have just pledged and we have new Sisters who have just initiated. We have new officers installed with new goals to meet. It's a time when invitations are extended and accepted, and oaths and promises are expressed.

Women are joining. Women are leading. Women are supporting each other and holding each other accountable. We promised we would.

The symbol of who we are and the symbol of those promises is the Chi Omega badge. The elements of the badge remind us of our history and reflect our identity. Wearing the badge shows pride in our Sisterhood and fraternal spirit. The bonds of friendship and support are physically expressed in the badge. Placed over the heart for all to see, it announces that Chi Omega is important to the wearer.

International Badge Day is March 1, 2010. On that day, take a moment and reflect and celebrate friendships past and present made possible by Chi Omega. Wear your badge with pride and feel the touch of your Sisters sharing the bonds of our beloved Fraternity with you.

When you see a Chi Omega wearing her badge, I hope you'll be reminded of the values and strength of our Sisterhood. Sister, thank you for keeping your promise and keeping Chi Omega ever at heart.

Loyally,

Joellyn Forrester Sullivan, National Treasurer of Chi Omega
