Greek Week President Discovers Leadership and Service Through Fraternal Connections

Candice Burnam has built support for her leadership goals and personal success through campus connections, especially the bonds of Chi Omega Sisterhood. Candice, a senior majoring in health sciences at the U of Cincinnati, joined Chi Omega as a freshman.

In April she was president of UC’s Greek Week 2009. The annual spring tradition unites the campus’s 11 sororities and 21 fraternities to support the courageous children of the Make-A-Wish Foundation®.

“Looking back on my freshman year, I never would have dreamed I would be leading something like Greek Week or anything this huge. Chi Omega helped me become more of a leader. It drew me out of my shell,” she says. “And I have the support of all my Pi Alpha Sisters.”

Candice has also pursued connections outside the classroom with a service fraternity and a new Christian student organization. “I used to think college was just about going to class,” she says. “but there’s so much more... and I love it!”
